Young Adults
Therapy for young adults in Oklahoma
Young adulthood can hold possibility, pressure, uncertainty, and a lot of change at the same time.
Acuity provides therapy for young adults ages 18–29, including college and non-college young adults navigating anxiety, identity, relationships, independence, school, work, self-worth, and life transitions.

A life stage of its own
You are building a life while still figuring out what fits you.
Young adulthood often brings more freedom alongside more decisions. Education, work, money, relationships, family expectations, living arrangements, and identity can all be changing at once.
There is no single correct path through this stage. Therapy offers room to slow down, understand what is happening, and make choices that reflect your values rather than only outside pressure.
What may be showing up
So much can feel unsettled while everyone expects you to know.
You may be in college, working, training, job searching, caregiving, or finding another path. Support can meet the life you are actually living.
Pressure to have a plan
Feeling as if you should already know what comes next or be further along than you are.
Anxiety and overthinking
Replaying decisions, comparing paths, expecting the worst, or finding it difficult to feel settled.
Identity and self-worth
Trying to understand who you are while questioning whether you are capable, enough, or on the right path.
Relationships and belonging
Navigating friendship changes, dating, loneliness, family expectations, conflict, or uncertainty about where you fit.
Independence and responsibility
Managing money, routines, decisions, boundaries, and adult responsibilities without feeling fully prepared.
School, work, or direction
Balancing education, employment, training, caregiving, job searching, or uncertainty about what you want.

Young Adult FAQs
Questions about beginning therapy as a young adult
What can therapy help with during young adulthood?
Therapy can support young adults ages 18–29 with anxiety, self-worth, identity, relationships, independence, school or work pressure, family expectations, and life transitions. You do not need to be in crisis or have a diagnosis to begin.
Do I need to be in college to use this support?
No. This support includes college and non-college young adults. You may be working, training, job searching, caregiving, taking time away from school, or finding another path that fits your life.
What if I am unsure what I want or what comes next?
Therapy can give you room to explore your values, expectations, fears, relationships, and options without requiring an immediate answer. The work can focus on understanding what matters and choosing a manageable next step.
Can therapy for young adults be provided online?
Yes. Acuity offers in-person appointments in Edmond and online therapy when you are physically located in Oklahoma during each session.
Can young adults use insurance for therapy?
Acuity accepts multiple insurance plans, but participation and benefits vary by clinician and plan. Any benefit information provided before a session is an estimate, and the amount due may change after the claim is processed.
