Questions you may have
How much does therapy cost at Acuity Counseling?
For licensed clinicians, the intake session is $165 and subsequent sessions are $150. For pre-licensed clinicians, the intake session is $115 and subsequent sessions are $95. Group rates vary depending on the group. Your responsibility may differ when insurance benefits apply.
Does Acuity Counseling accept insurance?
Yes. Acuity Counseling participates with select insurance plans, including BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, Carelon, Curative, UMR, UnitedHealthcare, Optum, HealthChoice, Healthcare Highways, 90 Degree Benefits, Medica, Mending, Oscar Health, Preferred Community Choice, WebTPA, HealthSmart, Government Employees Health Association (GEHA), and First Health. Network participation and benefits can change, so please verify your specific behavioral-health coverage before scheduling.
How do I find out what my insurance will cover?
Contact the member-services number on your insurance card and ask about outpatient mental health benefits. Helpful questions include whether Acuity Counseling and your selected therapist are in network, whether you have a copay or deductible, whether authorization is required, and whether there are limits on covered sessions.
Can I choose private pay if I have insurance?
Yes. You can choose private pay if you have insurance. Appropriate paperwork must be completed if you want to opt out of using your insurance benefits.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Acuity Counseling accepts debit cards, credit cards, and eligible HSA/FSA cards. Payments are handled through the secure client portal.
Do you provide superbills or Good Faith Estimates?
If you do not have insurance or choose not to use it, you may have a right to a written Good Faith Estimate of expected charges. Acuity Counseling delivers personalized estimates through the secure client portal. Superbills may be available for eligible out-of-network reimbursement and must include a mental health diagnosis because insurers require one to process the claim. Reimbursement is determined by your plan.
