A Little About Me

A space to feel seen, heard, and supported.

Healing does not always have to feel heavy to be meaningful.

At Acuity Counseling, I believe everyone deserves a space to feel seen, heard, and supported—without judgment. I work with individuals, teens, and young adults who often feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of how to move forward in their lives.

Clients often describe me as warm, relatable, and real. I bring authenticity, curiosity, and the occasional well-timed laugh into sessions. I’m here to help you untangle the patterns holding you back, reconnect with your strengths, and step into a version of yourself that feels more grounded and confident.

Therapy with me is not about perfection or performance. It is about making space for self-discovery, self-compassion, and lasting change.

— Whitney

Who I Work With

We might be a good fit if you are navigating…

You do not need to fit neatly into one category. These are some of the experiences I frequently support, and we will make space for the full context of what is happening in your life.

Depression

Low motivation, disconnection, heaviness, or not feeling like yourself.

Feeling stuck

Knowing something needs to change but feeling unsure how or where to begin.

What Therapy With Me Feels Like

Collaborative, honest, and shaped around you.

We will work together to set goals that matter to you. You will be met with empathy, honesty, and practical tools tailored to your needs.

I will challenge you gently when needed, but always from a place of support and care.

Person-Centered Therapy

Your experiences, insight, culture, and goals guide the work. Therapy is collaborative—not a therapist telling you who to be.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

We can identify connections between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while building practical ways to respond to unhelpful patterns.

Internal Family Systems

IFS offers a compassionate way to understand the different parts of yourself, including protective responses that may feel confusing or difficult.

Creative Interventions

Art, metaphor, and visual exploration can offer another way to understand experiences that may be difficult to capture in words alone.

Get to Know Whitney

A little more about what it is like to work together.

Finding the right therapist is personal. These answers offer another glimpse into my style, priorities, and the kind of space I hope to create.

You never need perfect words or a fully formed goal before beginning therapy.

How would you describe your style as a therapist?

Warm, relatable, and real. I bring authenticity, curiosity, and the occasional well-timed laugh into sessions. I also offer honest feedback and practical tools, and I will challenge you gently when it can support the goals we have identified together.

Who do you especially enjoy working with?

I work with individuals, teens, and young adults navigating anxiety, self-worth, identity, life transitions, relationship concerns, boundaries, burnout, and the feeling of being stuck. I especially enjoy helping clients reconnect with their strengths and grow into a more grounded and confident version of themselves.

What can I expect from therapy with you?

Therapy with me is collaborative and person-centered. We will make space for what brought you in, identify goals that genuinely matter to you, and move at a pace that feels sustainable. You can expect empathy, honesty, curiosity, and support without pressure to perform.

How do you decide which therapeutic approach to use?

There is no one-size-fits-all process. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Person-Centered Therapy, and creative interventions such as art and metaphor. We will shape the approach around your needs, preferences, and the ways you understand yourself best.

What do you hope clients take away from therapy?

I hope clients develop a more compassionate relationship with themselves, greater clarity about their patterns and needs, and confidence in their ability to make meaningful choices. Therapy is not about perfection—it is about self-discovery, self-trust, and lasting change.
