Group Therapy in Edmond, Oklahoma
Grow, heal, and connect—together.
At Acuity Counseling, we know healing doesn’t have to happen alone. Group therapy offers a supportive space where you can share your experiences, learn from others, and discover you’re not alone in your struggles. Led by a skilled therapist, groups provide connection, encouragement, and practical tools for growth.

Current Group at Acuity
Making Sense of Your Worth.
An eight-week therapist-led group for anyone who wants to understand the roots of low self-worth, develop more secure attachment, and begin building a life grounded in truth rather than old beliefs.

Understand the past. Rebuild from truth.
Self-worth influences the decisions we make and the relationships we build. This program follows a step-by-step process for developing positive self-worth and secure attachment.
Participants explore how life experiences may have shaped beliefs such as “I am not good enough” or “I am not smart enough,” then learn how to challenge those old messages and build a healthier foundation.
The curriculum was created by Cindy R. Lee, LCSW, in partnership with HALO Project International. The group is facilitated by Whitney Hake, MCP, LPC-S, NCC.

Questions about group therapy
What is group therapy?
Group therapy brings together a small number of individuals who are navigating similar experiences in a supportive, therapist-led environment. Sessions encourage connection, personal growth, and learning from both the therapist and other group members.
How many people are typically in a group?
Group sizes vary depending on the type of group, but most include between 6 and 10 participants. Keeping groups smaller allows everyone the opportunity to participate while creating a comfortable and supportive atmosphere.
Do I have to talk during every session?
No. While participation is encouraged, there is no pressure to share before you're ready. Many people benefit simply from listening at first, and most become more comfortable participating as trust develops within the group.
Will what I share remain confidential?
Confidentiality is an important part of group therapy. All members are expected to respect one another's privacy and agree to keep personal information shared during sessions confidential. While therapists emphasize the importance of confidentiality, it cannot be guaranteed because group members are not bound by the same legal obligations as licensed professionals.
How do I know if group therapy is right for me?
Group therapy may be a great fit if you're looking to connect with others, gain new perspectives, practice relationship skills, and receive support from people who understand similar challenges. If you're unsure, Acuity can help you consider whether group therapy, individual therapy, or a combination best fits your needs.
Can I participate in group therapy while attending individual therapy?
Yes. Many people find that combining individual and group therapy provides additional support. Individual therapy offers personalized attention, while group therapy provides opportunities to practice new skills, receive encouragement, and learn from shared experiences.
